First-year English Presentations

Hello! This is Miranda, Nishineyagawa’s Assistant English Language Teacher (ALT). Are you staying warm in this cold Osaka winter? Osaka is a bit colder than Texas, where I grew up, so I am doing my best to stay warm.

I hope you will enjoy reading about what Nishineyagawa’s first-year students are learning in English class. This semester, students chose a country to learn more about. First, they used their Chromebooks to research various things about their countries, such as the popular tourist spots, famous foods, currency, and population. Then, they created posters with wonderful drawings. Lastly, they presented their findings to the class. Did you know that the capital of Madagascar is Antananarivo, that the language of Cyprus is Turkish and Greek, or that a popular food in Spain is Paella? These are new things my students taught me. I loved learning about many countries!

こんにちは！西寝屋川英語指導助手のミランダです！年末年始どうでしたか？大阪の寒い冬の中に暖かく過ごしていますか？私が育ったテキサス州より寒いですので、毎日頑張って暖かくしようとしています。

西寝屋川の一年生が英語の授業で何を学んでいるについて聞いてもらいたいと思います。今学期、生徒がもっと知りたい国を選びました。まず、クロームブックでそれぞれの国の有名な観光地や名物料理や通貨や人口などを調べました。それから、綺麗な絵がたくさん書かれているポスターを作りました。最後に、クラスのみんなの前で発表してもらいました。マダガスカルの首都はアンタナナリボや、キプロスの言語はギリシア語とトルコ語や、スペインの名物料理はパエリヤなど、知っていましたか？これは生徒の発表に教えてもらったことです。色々な国について習えて嬉しかったです。
