ESS Club Introduction

Hi, this is Miranda, the Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) at Nishineyagawa. Did you enjoy your spring vacation? I am looking forward to meeting the new first-year students at Nishineyagawa!

Today, I would like to introduce ESS Club to you. ESS stands for English Speaking Society. In ESS Club, we practice speaking English in a casual and comfortable setting. Sometimes we play card games, watch American movies or TV shows, or do other fun activities. We also celebrate various special holidays! For Halloween, we wore costumes and handed out candy around school. For Christmas, we had a party, made sweet treats, and watched a movie. We can learn about holidays and events from countries around the world. I can teach you about America, where I am from!

We may not have too many members, but we always have a fun time practicing English. Anyone can join ESS Club, even if you are nervous about speaking English or are not good at English. Let’s try our best! I hope you will consider joining ESS Cub. Thank you!

今日はESS部を紹介したいと思います。ESSはEnglish Speaking Societyの略語です。ESS部では気楽で快適な環境で英語を話すことを練習します。カードゲームしたり、アメリカの映画やテレビを見たり、他の活動もしています。色々な祝日も祝っています。例えば、ハロウィンの時は校内で仮装してキャンディーを配りました。クリスマスの時はパーティーをして、お菓子を作って映画を見ました！いろいろな国の祝日やイベントについて習えます。私の出身のアメリカについても教えます！

部員が少ないかもしれないですが、いつも英語を話しながら楽しい時間を過ごしています。英語を話すのが緊張する人も、英語が苦手な人でも、誰でもESS部に入ることができます。一緒に頑張りましょう！ESS部に入ることを考えてみてください。ありがとうございました！
